Samsung Opens New Experience Store in Nairobi CBD as Megahub Expands Retail Presence

Megahub Connect Limited, in partnership with Samsung Electronics East Africa, has opened a new Samsung Experience Store (SES) at the Cameo Building along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

The new outlet is Megahub’s second Samsung Experience Store in Kenya and expands the company’s presence in the country’s growing consumer electronics market.

According to the companies, the new store brings Samsung’s latest smartphones, televisions, home appliances and connected devices into a more interactive retail environment where customers can experience products before making a purchase.

New Samsung Experience Store targets Nairobi shoppers

Unlike a conventional electronics shop where customers may only view products on display, the Samsung Experience Store model is designed around hands-on interaction.

Visitors can explore Samsung devices, compare features and see how different products work together within the company’s broader ecosystem.

This is particularly relevant as consumers increasingly own multiple connected devices, including smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, televisions, earbuds and other smart-home products.

The new store at Cameo Building gives shoppers in Nairobi’s CBD another physical location where they can interact with Samsung products and receive assistance before buying.

Second Megahub Samsung Experience Store in Kenya

The Cameo Building outlet follows Megahub’s first Samsung Experience Store at the Hilton, which opened in 2024.

The expansion indicates continued investment in physical technology retail despite the rapid growth of online shopping in Kenya.

For consumers, physical experience stores remain important for products where specifications alone do not tell the entire story.

A customer considering a new smartphone, for example, may want to test the display, camera, size, software interface and overall feel of the device before spending money.

Similarly, buyers of televisions and home appliances may want to compare different models and understand how features work in a real-world environment.

What customers can expect at the new store

The new Samsung Experience Store is positioned as more than a traditional point of sale.

Customers can expect an environment where they can interact with Samsung’s product ecosystem and get information about products before making purchasing decisions.

For smartphone buyers, this can include comparing different Galaxy models based on screen size, camera capabilities, performance, battery features and software.

Customers interested in Samsung’s wider ecosystem can also explore how devices such as Galaxy smartphones, tablets, wearables and other connected products work together.

This hands-on approach could be particularly useful for consumers who are unsure which device best matches their needs and budget.

Why physical technology stores still matter

Kenya’s technology market has become increasingly digital, with consumers researching specifications, prices and reviews online before purchasing products.

However, online research cannot always replace physical product testing.

A smartphone’s specifications may indicate its screen resolution or camera hardware, but they do not necessarily tell a customer how comfortable the phone feels in the hand or how its display looks in person.

The same applies to televisions, home appliances and other consumer electronics.

Experience stores therefore provide an important bridge between online research and an actual purchase.

For Samsung, the model also provides an opportunity to demonstrate its broader ecosystem rather than marketing individual products separately.

Samsung’s growing ecosystem in Kenya

Samsung’s product strategy increasingly extends beyond smartphones.

The company’s ecosystem includes Galaxy smartphones and tablets, wearables, televisions, home appliances and other connected products.

As more consumers adopt multiple smart devices, compatibility and integration are becoming increasingly important purchasing considerations.

For example, someone buying a Galaxy smartphone may also be interested in Samsung’s Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds or other connected products.

An experience-focused store allows consumers to see these products together rather than evaluating them individually.

That could make the new Megahub location particularly relevant to consumers looking to build or upgrade a connected-device ecosystem.

What the expansion means for Kenyan consumers

The opening of another Samsung Experience Store gives Kenyan consumers greater access to official product demonstrations and in-person assistance.

It also increases competition within Nairobi’s consumer electronics retail market.

For shoppers, the most important benefit will ultimately be the ability to make more informed purchasing decisions.

Before buying an expensive device, consumers can compare products physically, ask questions and determine whether a particular model actually meets their needs.

However, shoppers should still compare prices and specifications across authorised retailers before completing a purchase.

The presence of a physical experience store should complement, rather than replace, independent research.

Megahub and Samsung expand their retail footprint

The Cameo Building opening represents another step in the partnership between Megahub Connect Limited and Samsung Electronics East Africa.

With the new outlet, Megahub now operates two Samsung Experience Stores in Kenya.

The companies say the wider Samsung Experience Store network has reached 23 locations in Kenya and 29 across East Africa.

The expansion comes at a time when consumers across the region are increasingly interested in smartphones, connected devices, smart-home technology and other digital products.

A new destination for Samsung customers in Nairobi CBD

For consumers in Nairobi’s CBD, the new Samsung Experience Store at Cameo Building provides another location to explore the company’s latest technology.

Its emphasis on hands-on demonstrations could be particularly valuable for customers purchasing premium smartphones, televisions, appliances and other higher-value electronics.

Rather than relying entirely on specifications and online reviews, shoppers can physically interact with products before deciding what to buy.

As Kenya’s technology market continues to mature, this combination of online research and physical product experiences is likely to remain important.
