WITIA (Women in Technology and Innovation Africa) is a non-profit organization founded in 2024. It focuses on promoting gender balance and
empowering women across Africa in the fields of technology, innovation, leadership, and related
areas.
Mission and Goals
WITIA aims to close the gender gap in tech by equipping women with skills, resources, and
opportunities. This leads to personal growth and broader societal benefits. Key focus areas include:
● Education & training in technology
● Access to employment opportunities
● Mentorship programs
● Building inclusive ecosystems for women in STEM and innovation
● Initiatives like smart libraries and digital inclusion projects (e.g., supporting schools in areas
like Mbukoni, and schools that have benefited already Kenya)
Their partnerships with Unicaf for upskilling and advanced qualifications has made this organization
more successful.

creative/tech-focused events.

Upcoming Event: WITIA Creative Show 2026
WITIA is hosting the first-ever WITIA Creative Show 2026 on Friday, 8th May 2026 at Safari Park
Hotel, Nairobi (8:30 AM – 6:00 PM).
Theme : Where Art, Innovation & Culture Converge.
It features art installations, creative tech demos, cultural performances, networking, and showcases
by artists, innovators, designers, and storytellers. Part of the proceeds or focus supports smart
libraries and digital inclusion across Africa.

● WITIA Members: Free
● Exhibitor Package (for creatives showcasing work): KES 10,000
