Ferrari’s first-ever fully electric car is the Ferrari Luce, unveiled at a global debut event in Rome. The groundbreaking vehicle represents a dramatic shift for the Maranello-based automaker, blending high-voltage track technology with an analog, luxury-focused cabin.
Design & Interior Collaboration
The vehicle features a polarising, aerodynamic teardrop shape and functions as a large 4-door vehicle. Ferrari broke from tradition by collaborating with LoveFrom—the creative collective co-founded by former Apple design superstars Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson—to shape both the exterior and interior.
- Tactile Over Screens: Instead of relying on massive digital displays, the interior embraces high-end physical switchgear, satisfying mechanical toggles, and anodized aluminum knobs.
- Ferrari’s First Five-Seater: Freed from a traditional transmission tunnel, the Luce introduces a genuinely flat floor with five proper seats and the largest boot space in the manufacturer’s history (21.1 cubic feet).
- Bespoke Detailing: Highlights include a retro 1960s Nardi-inspired steering wheel and a Gorilla® Glass key embedded with an automotive-first E Ink display that pulses Ferrari yellow when docked.
Performance & Engineering Specifications
The powertrain was built entirely in-house in Maranello’s dedicated “e-building”. It leverages engineering concepts from Ferrari’s Formula 1 and World Endurance Championship (WEC) racing programs.
- Power Output: 1,035 horsepower (peaks at 1,050 hp in Launch Control).
- Drivetrain: Four independent permanent-magnet electric motors (one at each wheel) spinning up to 30,000 RPM at the front and 25,500 RPM at the rear.
- Acceleration: 0 to 100 km/h (0–62 mph) in a blistering 2.5 seconds.
- Top Speed: 310 km/h (192 mph).
- Battery & Range: A 122-kWh battery pack delivers a real-world driving range of over 530 km (329 miles).
- Fast Charging: Built on a bespoke 880V platform, it supports charging speeds up to 350 kW, enabling a 20-minute rapid charge to replenish roughly 57% of the battery.
- Torque Shift Engagement: Rather than traditional gear shifting, the steering wheel paddles let the driver adjust torque delivery aggressiveness on the right and regenerative braking intensity on the left across five distinct levels.
Price & Availability
Unlike a rare hypercar, the Luce sits in Ferrari’s standard production lineup with an eight-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
- Base Price: €550,000 (approximately $640,000 USD).
- Deliveries: Factory production begins in Maranello at the end of 2026, with customer deliveries scheduled to roll out late in the year and into 2027.
