Mahindra & Mahindra has released teasers featuring the Thar Roxx lifestyle off-road SUV, revealing its upright silhouette. While official details of the upcoming model are still under the wraps, it’s expected to be either a Thar Roxx facelift or a special edition. The teaser video’s caption reads “The spotlight has found it’s star”, “Coming soon”, hinting at a limited-run edition.
Sportier Design Enhancements
Based on the teaser, the upcoming new Mahindra Thar Roxx is expected to be finished in a dark colour and feature sportier blacked-out elements. If you recall, Mahindra introduced the XUV700 Ebony Edition with enhancement design and interior last year.
Similarly, the Thar Roxx special edition might come with a Stealth Black paint scheme, blacked-out alloy wheels, new silver scuff plates on the front and rear bumpers, and special badging on the front fenders and tailgate.
Minimal Interior Changes
The interior layout and features are expected to remain largely unchanged. However, the new Mahindra Thar Roxx might feature an all-black or new leatherette upholstery with contrasting stitching on the seats. It could also receive an updated touchscreen infotainment system along with a few more upgrades.
Same Engines Expected
Mechanically, the new Mahindra Thar Roxx is likely to remain unchanged. The SUV is currently available with a 2.L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engine options.
The petrol engine delivers power worth 160bhp with 330Nm of torque, while the 2.2L diesel engine is good enough for 150bhp with 330Nm. The SUV lineup will continue to come with three drive modes – Zip, Zap and Zoom, and terrain modes – Snow, Sand and Mud
